Bill Whittaker received his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 2002, he is editor of the Journal of the Iowa Archeological Society and editor and co-author of Frontier Forts of Iowa (2009, University of Iowa Press) and The Archaeological Guide to Iowa (2015, University of Iowa Press). His specialties includes early historic-era archaeology and zooarchaeology.
